Meet Rachael, the dynamic student from Moi University studying Community Development, who embarked on a thrilling one year internship at WOVOP in 2022. She showed keen interest in administration and as such served with WOVOP as the administrator.

Of course, every journey has its highs and lows. Rachael's low point came when her contract came to an end. But let's not dwell on that because her favourite moments were out in the field, where she truly thrived. The thrill of getting her hands dirty, making things happen, and creating real impact fuelled her every day.

"Have you heard about WOVOP's trophy collection? It's like they're racking up awards and recognition left and right! It's no surprise though, considering the incredible work they do for young women, girls, volunteers, and the entire country. WOVOP is the real deal, folks!" she said when asked about the impact WOVOP is making.

But it's not just about the projects and accolades, Rachael acknowledges that the WOVOP team deserves a standing ovation. She had the pleasure of working alongside an accommodating and awesome bunch of people who made her feel right at home. And let's not forget about the Peace Hive in Kisumu – a project that Rachael couldn't get enough of. She brought her unique ideas and skills to the table, making a significant contribution to promoting peace before and after the 2022 general election.

Rachael has been selected to participate in the Ubuntu Leadership Academy (ULA) the Uganda Chapter where she has been since November 2022 courtesy of WOVOP. It aims to develop the values of Servant Leadership, Ethics of Care and Bridge Building in young people with high leadership potential from vulnerable contexts and who seek the common good of their communities. It also aims to train a new generation of youth leaders who are capable of caring, listening, trusting and promoting reconciliation by building bridges and promoting human dignity.

"WOVOP isn't just a place, it's an experience!" Rachael exclaimed with a smile. "The programs they offer are not only incredibly educational but also downright amazing. And get this – their impact extends far beyond Kisumu; they're making waves across the entire country!" She states when asked about recommending the program to others.
